This handy hint was sent in by Tony Church - Use a car wash product to clean your windows. Just use as if you are washing your car. Wet the window, apply with a house washing brush or car wash brush, then hose off. This method also seems to remove pollen and brighten the aluminum. |

Jenny Lush sent this hint. Keep your old kitchen tongs and use them to make into a blind cleaner for venetian or wooden blinds. Attach a piece of sponge to the each end and dampen the sponge. Run the tongs along the top and bottom of each slat. |

Madge Rolston suggests when buying flowers, feel the top of the stem to check freshness. This should be firm and strong, not soft. To keep water in vases of flowers from smelling, put in a few drops of bleach. |
All these tips this week are from Barbara Lee. For dusting high areas, put a old pair of panty hose over a broom head. If bed pillows have a dusty smell, put in the clothes dryer, one on one side of the drum and one on the other. Spin for a few minutes which will get rid of the dust build up. To remove dust from artificial or dried flowers, put them in a pillow case with some unprocessed wheat bran and shake . This will clean the petals. To clean delicate ornaments use a paint bush or use a hairdryer for a quick job. |
